este fin de semana ha sido tan bonito que sólo puedo dar las gracias. gracias por poder compartir feria con todas estas super crafters, por poder estar al ladito de silvia, mirar a la grada y verle a él y a mis amigos reirse y pasárselo bien, y a los que vinieron expresamente para darme un abrazo (elena, jose, andraina, hare i albeta, ivette, ari, mar i naïm...), a elena y dani que nos ayudaron a llevar media casa hasta ahí, a mi madre y mis hermanas, a las que sólo pude dar un beso rápido, a todos los que leéis el blog y os animásteis a decirme hola! (me hizo muchísima ilusión conoceros :).. y a cada una de las personas que pasaban por ahí y decidieron entrar y ver qué pasaba.
y a los pompones, las banderitas de colores. la muela del ticket de caja, los mantelitos de colores, el calor y el fresquito y la foto de familia. todo esto se queda aquí guardadito, y me hace sonreir cada vez que lo recuerdo.

ahora sólo puedo pensar en que se repita pronto.

with such a wonderful and light-hearted weekend i can only be grateful. grateful for being able to share this fair with all these supertalented crafters, for having the best stand-mate ever: silvia, for taking a glimpse to the grandstand and seeing him with my friends laughing and having fun, for having such a great and generous friends who came just to hug me (thanks elena, jose, andraina, hare and albeta, ivette, ari, mar and naïm...), and to elena and dani who helped us to carry all that stuff from home. thank you also to my mother and sisters who just recieved a quick kiss, and to all of you (dear readers) who came and said hello! and to all who just walked around and decided to get in and see what was going on.
and to the pompons, and the coloured garlands, and the cash ticket tooth, and the bright tablecloths, and the warm and cold, and the family picture. i have all this well kept in my memories and every time i think about it i can't help start smiling.

thanksgiving day

hoy se celebra en estados unidos el día de acción de gracias. así que aprovecho para celebrar una auténtica cabalgata y llenar el blog de globos gigantes, tal y como han hecho los almacenes macy's desde 1927 en nueva york. uau.. la primera vez que vi una de estas fotos no me lo podía creer. investigué un poquito, y encontré unas cuantas más! son fascinantes.

y así os doy mil gracias a todos y todas las que habéis participado y habéis hecho posible el post más bonito que ha habido en este blog. no sabéis lo emocionante que ha sido ir recibiendo todas vuestras pequeñas historias de amor. el día que lo publiqué fue como estar trabajando para los reyes magos, mi mail se llenó de cartas de amor a las pequeñas cosas. sois increíbles.

gracias también a bukubuku, a club azul y a la isla de lusi por enseñarlo al mundo.

estos días estoy trabajando mucho para entregar un trabajo del postgrado. pero el martes se celebrará por fin el sorteo. me hace muchísima ilusión!


it’s Thanksgiving in the United States and I want to be a little grateful over here too, so I'm celebrating my own cavalcade of giant balloons as it's been doing macy's sincs 1927 in New York. wow.. the first time I saw one of these pictures I just couldn't believe it. so I looked up a little bit more and I found all these. how amazing it was!

so this is also how i say Thank You to all of you who participated in my last post, making it the nicest post in this blog. you can't imagine how exciting have been receiving all your small love storys. I felt as if I was working for santa claus, recieving all those small-things-love-letters. you are amazing! thank you also to bukubuku, club azul and la isla de lusi for their posts.

this is a love story

cuentan los cuentos que ella solía pasear por el bosque,
pensando que las cosas bonitas sólo les pasaban a los demás.

hay muchas cosas pequeñas pequeñitas que hacen que la vida se llene de purpurina de colores y de brillitos en los ojos. que hacen que pensemos que ha sido un buen día, que todo acabará saliendo bien. cosas pequeñas pequeñitas que hacen que todo valga la pena, y que nos dan un golpecito en el corazón.

vaya. parece que ésta soy yo estos días. el maletín que compré en berlín lleno de costureros, carpetas, muestras de tela, apuntes y reglas, bolis y gomas de borrar, libretas de dibujo y cartulinas. y cartabones y escuadras el día que toca costura, y agujas e hilos el día que tengo que dibujar. soy tan despistada...
siento muchísimo mi no-estar de los últimos días, y los mails-por-enviar, pero entre clases y pedidos y más clases no tengo casi tiempo para nada, ni siquiera para coser! gracias por seguir leyéndome pese a todo. gracias por estar ahí.

y gracias también a caterina por su pedido, por dejarme visitar su precioso taller y por dedicarme este bonito post (que maco va ser conèixe't, caterina!) y a isabel de cityshopping por confiar en emedemarta y recomendar mis cositas a sus clientas. aquí podéis ver el post que me ha dedicado :)


this it's me these days. the old briefcase i bought in berlin, now full of sewing baskets, folders, fabric samples, class notes and rules, pens and rubbers, sketchbooks and cards. and the set square when i have to sew and needles and threats when i have to draw. marta the little absent-minded.
i'm so sorry for not being here these last days, but among classes and orders and more classes i'm so busy that i have almost no time for nothing more, even not for sewing! this is why i want to appreciate you patience, and for being still there.

and i'm grateful also with caterina, and not to only for her order but also for showing me her amazing studio and for writing this nice post (how i enjoyed meeting you, caterina!) and with isabel from cityshopping for trusting in emedemarta and recommend my stuff to her costumers. she has also post the package :) thank you!

es la canción que abrió la puerta a un mundo de dragones tímidos y de corazones grandes que te esperaban escondidos en un lugar secreto para acabar viviendo mil aventuras. recuerdo los cuentos que escribía y dibujaba. y creo que durante una época sólo dibujé dragones verdes y rosas.

back to school

de vuelta al cole. hoy empiezo clases nuevas en la escuela: patronaje, costura, complementos y fibras y tejidos.
y esta tarde presentación del postgrado. me hace muchísima ilusión :)

the birthday, again

re-celebrando su cumpleaños en casa y con la familia. aproveché para acabar unos regalitos que había hecho para mi pequeño superman. banderitas de colores para su habitación y una pelota enooorme que le hizo sonreir toda la tarde, así que yo también tuve mi regalo :)

estas pelotas de tela son muy fáciles de hacer. si os animáis, en el blog de purl bee encontraréis un tutorial y varios patrones. además en la parte de la derecha hay muchos tutoriales más, a coser!

celebrating his birthday again, at home, with the family. i took the chance to finish some presents i wanted to make for my tiny superman. some coloured fabric garlands and a big ball that made him smile all the afternoon, that was the best present i could have!
these cheerful fabric balls are so easy to make, there is a nice tutorial at purl bee, where you can get the pattern too, let's sew!

nostalgia

vaya, parece que no me he podido resistir. no he aguantado ni un día! pero prometo que es una, sólo una más. es que me gusta tanto esta foto..

y el señor armario que me encontró en la calle una tarde de martes y que estoy a punto de acabar de pintar. y algo que os tendría que haber enseñado el invierno pasado, pero que al final, acabé guardando en un cajón. pronto más rosas de punto de cruz.

i found this old cabinet in the street* and now it's aquamarine.
and that cross-stitched rose is something i started last winter and i'm going to take up again. more cross-stitched roses to come very soon
(* in my neighborhood every tuesday there is something like "the junk day" so you can leave old pieces of furniture in the street and then anyone can take it. later if they are still on the street are collected by trucks of the city council. what an exciting day! :)

from the day we went to the gijón's flea market. found another wonderful beach. took some balckberries and had dinner near the sea. i'm going to miss you, mr. summer!

porque, aunque no teníamos nada planeado, tenía que empezar el día con un pastel de cumpleaños :) y como el tiempo no acompañaba, dejamos para el día siguiente los planes de playa y montaña, y aprovechamos el día para visitar gijón

because, although i couldn't plan anything, i wanted him to start his day with a birthday cake.. or something like that :) and as the weather wasn't very good, we decided to leave mountains and beach plans for the next day and went to gijón to visit the city

good morning

la primera mañana, con un sol precioso, dimos un paseo por el campo antes del desayuno: yogurt, mermeladas y bizcocho caseros; y tazas y azucareros de color blanco (oh! :) y él escogió su servilleta de cuadritos y yo la mía. más tarde, por casualidad, acabamos en una playa preciosa. una pequeña cala de arena blanca y fina y de rocas enormes en la que estábamos casi solos.
por la tarde, empezó a nublarse, y seguimos descubriendo playas verdes, y vaquitas marrones. y flores, muchas flores

the first morning the sun was shining, so we took a walk in the woods before breakfast: homemade yoghurt, jams and sponge cake; and white cups and sugar bowls (oh!), and each of us chose their own checkered napkin. later, by chance, we found a beautiful beach, a small cove where we were almost alone. the afternoon became cloudy, and we kept finding green beaches, and brown cows. and flowers, lots of flowers.
